One short of twenty four, so you have one hour to sleep. I do not know, it reminds me of a house number, like in an address particularly as the font mixes numbers with letters. Like the different types of numbers you see on homes. But seeing the movie ticket maybe it is a cinema allusion, such as the numbers flashing on the screen before an old fashion film starts.

It's a little-known fact that the fabric line was originally going to be called 2wenty-4our. (It just so happens that modern films are shown at 24 frames per second, creating the illusion of smooth motion to the human eye.) But just as Eric and Julie were finalizing the line in their studio, the cat noticed the light reflecting off of Eric's watch and jumped onto the design table to chase the reflection, startling Julie and causing her to simultaneously cry out and jump back, bumping into Eric, who was just removing the tea bag from his freshly brewed, piping hot cup of Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger tea. The hot tea splashed onto the cat, and (not caring at all for the dousing he'd just received), the cat sought the quickest path he could find to escape from the hot tea, upsetting the aloe vera plant in the process, and spilling dirt all over the final drafts. Frantic, Eric and Julie scrambled to save their precious work, but the lethal combination of Red Zinger and potting soil was fatal to one of the designs. THAT is how the fabric line came to be known as "2wenty-Thr3e".

I would definitely say that it is for the 23 missed date nights when you have a new baby (even under a year) that wakes you up 23 times per night or makes you clean the floor 23 times in a week or causes 23 extra loads of laundry, extra showers, extra baths. It could stand for the stolen 23 minutes of snuggle time when all is quiet and your baby sleeps peacefully for a whopping 23 minutes... (If you couldn't tell, I have an almost 1yo that is a whirlwind!)

At first I thought it might refer to the road that the drive-in is located on, but that can't be it! FYI: Julie, I have a daughter in Sweden that I mail to frequently, and I checked the new international postage and discovered that for "flats" (post office term for large envelopes like manila envelopes) the rates for four pounds are less than $1.50 more on Jan. 27 than the old rates. Lizzie tells me that often the first class pkgs. arrive more quickly than the Priority pkgs. Offering a first class international option may help you -- and your international customers. I sure hope so -- those girls in Europe cannot make it without FABRIC!

There's a real reason but what fun it that :) So... It's named after Imelda Stratford. The designers met her at afternoon tea in a little corner shop. They noticed Imelda's feathered hat in pink, joined her and listened to her retelling of days as an adventurer and photographer. The summer she was 23 she had a romance with a carni and starred for a brief time in one of his shows as a ballerina (Imelda was not a dancer but challenged herself to conquer new horizons and live life fully). At the end of the season they parted ways, wishing each other eternal summer and happiness.

The rise in the international postage rate is awful :-( - fabric here costs about £12 a metre (that's about $19) sometimes more. It would make sense to order a lot at once, but then you're likely to get hit with customs charges too. Overall I don't think it will stop us ordering from the US, just maybe not as often.
